The Fund “Institute ‘Vega’” at the Panel Discussion “Effective Business Models: How to Monetize Science”

On July 10, Skoltech hosted the All-Russian Congress of Councils of Young Scientists and Student Scientific Societies. As part of the “Science and Business” initiative of the Decade of Science and Technology in Russia, a panel discussion on cooperation between science and business was held, with the participation of Kirill Klimov, CEO of the Fund “Institute ‘Vega’”.

Kirill spoke about the Fund’s experience in bringing together the interests of science and industry. These two areas have everything needed for joint work: competencies, tasks, data, and opportunities for implementation. However, they need a connecting link that understands the needs of both sides and helps turn them into specific projects. This role is performed by Vega.

The Fund brings together scientists, students, postgraduate students, and industry experts, and creates conditions for working on fundamental and applied problems in financial mathematics. One of the main tools is research and industry groups. They allow young researchers to gain experience in solving real-world problems, while giving business access to scientific expertise and new results.

At the end of his speech, Kirill invited the participants to the round table “Business and Science: How to Bridge the Gap”. It will take place on September 8–10, 2026, as part of the International Technology Congress.

After the discussion, a quiz was held. A separate section included questions from the event partners, including the Fund “Institute ‘Vega’”. A gift was awarded for the correct answer to its question.
